It is a not well known fact that Bangkok used to be serviced by trams.
Here, not so far from Grand Palace, is a derelict tram track, demonstrating that trams used to share the roadway with cars and motorcycles. A footpath-resident demolition business...disassembling truck differentials...not far from Bangkok's #1 Tourist attraction...Grand Palace.
This morning a field of sugarcane was being torched in preparation for harvesting...fire burns away the dry and green leaves and so it is easier to hand cut the cane.
On Highway 24 these days there is a continuous steam of heavy trucks moving up the highway towards Laos, Cambodia and, possibly, Vietnam. The road is being widened into a dual carriageway but, until it is finished in about 6 months, there is congestion.
Nyah and Zuri settle for the night sleep. Watch for Grandpa singing that ole lullaby "The Lumberjack Song" at the end.
