Luang Prabang cityThe French provincial nature of the city is very evident, and not hidden at all.

Mekong RiverThe river is wide, fast-flowing, and red from the Himalayan silt it is carrying from Southern China.

Pak Ou CavesIn a river cliff, about an hour up the Mekong by boat, are the Pak Ou caves...large limestone galleries that have been heavily populated with large and small Buddha icons.

Luang Prabang TemplesThere are many interesting and colourful Buddhist temples in the city.

Kouang Si WaterfallA lovely, cool place not far from the city.
