Wat Sothorn, Chachoengsao
This temple, in Chachoengsao, about halfway between Bangkok and Pattaya, is an unusual temple. Its huge main building is clad in grey marble, and it has a very tall central spire.
For me, its best feature is its troupe of traditional temple dancers, and its embrace of a smaller, traditional Chinese buddhist temple.
The temple backs onto the Pakong River.

Temple DancersIt is often very hot and crowded in the open-walled building where they perform, and they wear heavy traditional costumes...however, the performances are disciplined and impressive.
