Wat Huppa Sawan
Wat Huppa Sawan is a forest temple, built on flat land beside a towering limestone outcrop. Steep steps lead up the limestone hill to platforms on which Buddha icons and other things have been constructed. There are monkey living in the forest, but they are very timid.

The PourCeremony involving the pouring of a major new Buddha icon. I was able to get right in among the action during this ceremony...in fact, was encouraged to be there!

The Temple activitiesThe temple, named "Heaven on the Hill", was having a celebration to witness and celebrate the pouring of the major Buddha icon which will be installed in the new Ubusot when it is built. We made a day trip to participate in the ceremony, and to be with Khun Tar and Nong bank [who is the novice Monk in this gallery]. On a return trip, a few weeks later I climbed the nearby limestone outcrop, which is around 100 metres high, and made use of the vantage point.
