Pakse, Southern Laos
Pakse is accessable from Ubon in NE Thailand. It sits on the confluence of the Sedone and Mekong rivers. There is much to see and do in this region, and its natural attractions are superb. I have been here twice.

2008Son Jake and I spent a few days here.
We visited the Four Thousand Islands area of The Mekong, and the Ancient Vat Phou Khmer Temple ruin. |

2016I returned here with friends Tim and Koen.
We bicycled up to the Bolaven Plateau to view the wonderful waterfalls. We then bussed north, following the Mekong river to Suwanaket, Tha Kaek and Paksan, staying a night at each place, before crossing back into Thailand at Beung Kaen. |
