Up-country - Temples
Most of Thailand's 32,000+ Buddhist temples are outside Bangkok. Some are spectacular...others are modest...all are unique and certainly worth visiting.

Wat Huppa SawanA forest temple, south of Bangkok, near Cha Am. The main temple buildings are on the flat land below a towering limestone outcrop.
One time, when we were visiting, there was a major ceremony involving the pouring of a new Buddha icon for the Ubosot that is planned for the future. On another occasion, two bus-loads of Singaporeans were making their annual pilgrimage to this temple which they were patronising. |
