Cambodia - Western region
Images from a short, multi-transport tour of the western areas of Cambodia, with friends Tim, Koen and David. I believe our unwritten objectives were something like: 1. Travel on available, inexpensive transport 2. Experience the famous Bamboo Train 3. See stuff 4. Sample indigenous beer 5. Have fun. We travelled from Bangkok, Thailand by train [48baht each for the 5.5 hour journey]...walked across the border into Cambodia at Poipet...hired a taxi to take us to Batambang where we stayed two nights...hired a Cambodian style tuk tuk for local sight-seeing at Batambang...hired a taxi to take us to Pailin...and another for local sightseeing, and to get us to the border...walked across the border...hired a car to drive us to Chantaburi, where Tim and I stayed an extra day while the others returned to Bangkok by mini-van.
