A pleasant ride, quite a lot on single track or rutted unmade road, then a quick time on a 7.5km segment going home.
First ride on the road bike gave me last time I was in Australia. This is a well-setup bike, and the one Jake used when he made the Victorian State Junior team and rode in the National Junior Road Championships. It is a Gipiemme Steel frame, with Shimano Ultegra Groupset, Mavic rims with Dura-ace hubs, Shimano clipless off-road pedals.
A gentle ride to an interesting Khmer Ruins site between Prasat and Surin.
This semi-restored, 900 years old, Khmer ruin is about 3 Km South of Prasat City, or 15 Km East of our house, in Surin Province.
I visited the site on a recent bike outing.
Here is a small gallery of images relating to a visit I made to the site with Na's family in 2005:
First ride in Surin City. The traffic seems quite cyclist-aware, and so I felt quite confident to roll around and get an internal map of the city.
Plenty of off-track opportunities right in Prasat city, it seems.
After dropping Mawin at school, and dropping the car off at Prasat Toyota for a service, I cycled around Prasat lake...mostly off track, in swampy land with water buffalos for company...excellent fun! |
About RayI love cycling, whether rolling about in Bangkok or on country lanes. Recently I have also been attracted to bike racing as a means of challenging myself as I mature into that category known as The Elderly. Categories
