We ate at this place last evening and, as usual, found the food to be delicious as well as keenly priced.
Just a few hundred metres from our Bangkok condominium there is a huge marquee tent set up in what was a derelict building site...a restaurant operates in the tent from about 1700 until 0200 the following morning, every day...it has seating for about 400-500 diners, and even has 2 or 3 beer publicity hostesses [mini-skirt clad young ladies of the genre that look rather decent in mini-skirts, and whose job it is to push a particular brand of beer].

Na gave me some sobering news yesterday...she had just listened to a Bangkok Senior Policeman tell the world that, in Bangkok, cyclists have no rights except when they are travelling in designated bicycle lanes on the roads. This is bothering for a few reasons, including:
The local shopping mall is a bit of an avant garde space...7 levels of retail outlets, numbering about 350 shops plus an enormous department store...and, there are two soaring atriums, of which this is one.
There has been such a growth in the Thai Middle Class in the last 5-10 years that this place is hopelessly congested at most times of the day. |
