Four minus 1

Three of our four cats stayed at the feeding bowls long enough for me to point a camera at them. They never fight over food.

Our up-country kitten has a proprietorial view of many things, including the 3-legged stool I use when wandering about with a camera.

Yar Yar

Yar Yar is a street cat.

She is about the same age, size and colour as our Smoky, but she lives on the street and seems to be continuously pregnant or busily foraging for her brood.

She is good-natured and playful, and gentle and appreciative about accepting offers of food gifts.

Na sometimes buys a small deep-fried fish for Yar Yar, who accepts it and carries it back to her kittens.

Here she is under a food cart, cleaning her face after snacking on a giveaway from the friendly pork noodle vendor.

Sooty loves Durian

Sooty is a fruit-eating cat. She tucks into apple, rambutan, grapes, and other juicy fruits.

But her favourite fruit seems to be Durian. Watch her go at this one!

I shot this clip with Na's iPhone, but cannot blame that appliance for the still on top.

Sooty

We have had Sooty in our family for nearly 3 weeks, and the changes in her are remarkable.

Her weight is about x3, her scars and bald patches are almost invisible,  and her pronounced right back leg limp is gone.

She is strong,  sociable and nearly tireless.

Sooty gets on best with Snowy, and they spend hours together.  It seems Sooty thinks Snowy is her Mum,  and tries for ages to suckle from non-productive nipples...Snowy tolerates this quite well.

Drinking Water

9/5/2013

The climate in Thailand requires us to consume a lot of fluids.

I do like a cleansing ale, invigorating whiskey&soda, nerve-soothing red wine...but, I mostly drink plain, chilled water.

The cats drink a lot, also, and there is always a bowl of clean water near their food bowls. However, Daisy and Brownie have other preferences:
Picture
* Daisy especially likes the flavour of toilet-bowl water.

Picture
* Brownie  likes cut-flower vase water, fish-tank water, AND my plain, chilled drinking water.
