It rains nearly every day at this time of the year. After a downpour, the garden is especially interesting:
It would be very difficult to estimate the number of Buddha icons in Thailand, but I would guess somewhere between 10 and 100 for each of Thailand's sixty0three million people. That makes it a little difficult to understand why there is still a passion for making new ones. For about a year we have been witnessing the carving of a new set of wooden Buddha icons at Wat Dan, by the Chao Phraya river at Rama3 road. Now they are completed, and this is how they look: Here is a shot from 5 months ago, when the artists were still working on the icons:
Three of our four cats stayed at the feeding bowls long enough for me to point a camera at them. They never fight over food.
We are into the Wet season, when it can be expected there will be a short, sharp shower almost every evening.
