One needs a stable base from which to reach for the beer whilst waiting for birds and stuff to come close enough for a shot to be attempted.
Costs about 100baht...compatible with all cameras, and nearly all bum shapes and sizes... Seated, place elbows on knees, enjoy stable platform for shooting all kinds of low-hanging macro photography subjects. He's a frustratingly shy and elusive little critter...I spent a lot of time staking him in the past few days, but still lack a really decent shot.
No matter...I'll try again next time I am in The Village. Grass flowerhead makes an excellent prop for a spider to practice its weaving craft...a little backlighting assistance from the early morning sun helps to show it off.
