I doubt much of the product is moving off the shelves, though, as it is competing directly against locally produced vegetable oil products at 1/10 of the price.
In Thailand, vegetable oil is seen as being useful for deep and shallow frying of food, but not for things like dressing salads. Thai salads are usually dressed with something like a pesto of fresh chili, garlic, lemongrass and lime, with a dash of fermented fish sauce.
